Terms of Use
Last updated: · Version 2026-09-28-media-1
These terms cover the DeskCafes functions actually available to you. Describing an account or verification feature does not make it available: use depends on the controls and supported coverage shown on the website.
The operator and the service
DeskCafes is operated by ComandaPay, S.L., tax identifier B93869865, Avenida Europa 8A, Bajo E, 15178 A Coruña, Spain. Contact [email protected]. The Legal Notice at /legal provides our commercial registration details.
DeskCafes is a worldwide, café-first service for finding places to work. You may use its available functions subject to applicable mandatory law and supported service coverage. A place is not a participating venue merely because its area is visible on a map. An empty result is possible.
You may browse without an account, a verified phone number or analytics consent. Where an interactive map is available, Near me is optional and requests browser permission only when selected. A map or location-service failure does not establish a venue's opening hours, availability or participation. Respect the licences and attributions shown with maps and other third-party materials. External services have their own terms.
Your relationship with a venue
Any purchase or time-use transaction is directly between you and the venue. The venue is responsible for its charges, receipts, taxes, refunds and local obligations. DeskCafes is not a landlord, payment processor, merchant of record, tax provider, booking service or commercial-dispute arbitrator.
DeskCafes does not reserve seats, guarantee admission or workspace availability, collect venue payments or certify that a bill has been paid. There is no DeskCafes subscription or platform payment in this service.
Creating and protecting an account
Accounts are for adults aged 18 or over. This is our participation rule, not a statement that all countries have identical age requirements. To register by email, choose a password and verify your email with the requested code. Alternatively, start with Google without creating a DeskCafes password. Then choose your public display name and unique @username, declare that you are an adult, accept these Terms using the indicated action and verify your mobile number. You can correct your entries before confirming. Optional analytics permission is not required.
Enter a requested email code in the browser where you started; you may read the email in another app or device. Codes are short-lived and single-use. An interrupted verified registration can resume, but the account cannot participate until its required setup is complete. Existing accounts without a password retain their recovery access. Email codes also support forgotten-password recovery. Do not share passwords or security codes or impersonate another person through your public identity. A generic unsuccessful response may protect whether another person's account or identifier exists.
Where account participation is enabled, you must also verify a unique supported mobile number that you control. A phone number is not a way to log in. Account mobile verification uses SMS; the separate venue-control methods are described below. Where Google registration and sign-in are available, you may start with Google without registering by email first. Google does not replace the remaining account setup or supply your public alias. Additional email confirmation may be required before associating an existing account.
Keep control of your email and authentication methods. Disconnecting Google requires a recent email code and your DeskCafes password; if you do not have a password, create one during that verified process. Disconnecting does not delete your Google account. Do not share sessions, security codes or administrative recovery codes. An authenticator is optional for every account, including administrators and reviewers. If enabled, its code or a one-use recovery code completes each new sign-in by password, email code or Google. We do not request authenticator codes again for account or venue actions. Sensitive actions may require recent primary authentication within an existing completed session.
After accepting, your account confirmation identifies the version, acceptance time and receipt reference and lets you retrieve the accepted text. The versioned Terms page remains available without signing in. You can print or save it. The Privacy Policy is information about processing, not an additional blanket consent that you must give to register.
Verification texts you request
When mobile verification is available, DeskCafes uses transactional text messages to deliver a security code following your affirmative request. This is not a marketing subscription. Each send or resend requires a separate request for a number you control. You can decline and continue browsing, but functions requiring a verified number remain unavailable.
Standard message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
For help with verification or to ask us to stop further verification texts, contact [email protected]. Do not request another code if you do not want another text. Additional sender-specific help or opt-out instructions, where supported, are shown with the request. A sender may not accept replies; do not assume that replying will reach DeskCafes support. An already requested message may be in transit.
Responsible use and service limits
Respect other people's privacy and rights. Do not impersonate others, access an account without permission, bypass verification or request limits, send unwanted authentication messages, interfere with the service or submit unlawful material. Our Community Policy at /community explains how to raise a concern.
Security, delivery, coverage and cost-control limits may temporarily prevent a request or privileged action. They do not confirm that someone else's email or phone number is registered. You can continue using the available browsing functions when a verification service is unavailable.
Privacy and account closure
Our Privacy Policy at /privacy and Cookie Policy at /cookies explain the information and browser storage used by the available functions. Refusing optional analytics does not prevent essential account functions. Authentication, security and legal correspondence is not a newsletter subscription. Saving a browser privacy choice is not acceptance of account Terms.
Where self-service account deletion is available, it requires recent authentication and explicit confirmation. Logging out does not delete an account. Deletion removes the active profile and associated account data as explained in the Privacy Policy; necessary limited security or legal records and protected recovery copies follow their separate schedules. Contact [email protected] to exercise privacy rights even if a self-service screen is unavailable.
Deleting an account also deletes every venue it administers, removes its staff access and cancels pending administration recovery. An administrator must complete recent primary authentication and explicitly confirm deletion. Deletion does not transfer administration to staff or preserve a hidden public venue. Limited control, permission, enforcement and legal evidence follow the Privacy Policy's separate periods.
Availability, changes and your rights
The website and its providers can experience interruptions or changes in supported coverage. Nothing in these Terms excludes a mandatory duty or limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited, including consumer and privacy rights. These Terms do not impose an exclusive foreign forum or binding private arbitration.
The date and version identify this text. A later publication does not retroactively change what you accepted. Before introducing a material contractual change affecting an existing account, we will communicate it through an appropriate service or transactional notice and seek agreement where required. Browsing today is not agreement to unavailable future participation functions. Contact [email protected] with questions about these Terms.
Venue identity, control and public participation
A verified account may select a staffed public-access place from a bounded Overture lookup. A valid Overture GERS identifier is required. We do not offer an unclaimed public catalogue, manual listing or document-based control approval. Name, address, coordinates and GERS are fixed at selection and cannot be edited or refreshed in DeskCafes. A later source change does not update an existing venue. Mandatory privacy rights remain available through the contact in the Privacy Policy.
One successful automatic proof establishes control: a requested code to an Overture-published email or eligible phone by SMS or voice, or control of the registrable domain of an eligible official website by DNS or HTTPS. Only request messages or calls you are authorized to receive. Source contacts are private control evidence; venue-authored public contacts are separate and do not establish control. If no automatic method is usable, the place cannot join. A successful control proof does not expire, but the recovery and enforcement rules still apply.
A venue has one administrator, who may administer other venues separately. Administration requires the assigned role and a completed sign-in; authenticator enrollment is optional. Administrators can select a registered username and add that account directly to staff; membership takes effect immediately and the member receives an operational email. Staff cannot edit the venue, its administrator or public configuration. Verify the intended username before adding a member; administrators can remove staff access. Publishing requires the administrator's staffed public-access declaration. Publish only information you may lawfully share and keep editable public contacts accurate.
There is no hide, pause or reactivate state. Deleting a venue requires recent primary authentication and explicit confirmation and immediately removes its public page, source/configuration and staff access. The same GERS may later be claimed from scratch; old public reviews and aggregates do not return. Restricted enforcement history and any permanent GERS block survive deletion.
Administration recovery and technical review
Another verified account may recover administration by proving control through the currently published Overture source. We notify the previous administrator and transfer automatically after seven days. Recovery preserves the original frozen venue identity and removes previous staff access and unused invitations. The previous administrator has no ordinary veto and a review request does not pause that deadline.
The previous administrator may request one technical reconsideration within six months of the recovery proof. A compliance reviewer may uphold the recovery or correct an objective proof, account or computation error. A correction can cancel a pending transfer or restore the previous administrator where the current state permits it. It cannot rewrite the frozen place identity, reopen a deleted venue or bypass a permanent block. The final explanation is shared with both parties. This review does not arbitrate payment, commercial or interpersonal disputes and does not limit mandatory legal rights.
Referrals and the free-session obligation
A verified account may create up to ten new venue referrals in a rolling 24-hour period. Re-sharing an existing active reference consumes no quota. You share the link and suggested copy through your own channel with an appropriate venue contact; DeskCafes sends no unsolicited acquisition marketing. The link opens a prefilled claim and identifies your public alias. It is not an authentication credential or proof of control.
Where several accounts refer the same venue, the code selected by the administrator during the pending claim wins. Accepting a code requires an explicit acknowledgment of the free-session obligation; the administrator can change or remove the selection before control verification. Changing the code cannot replace the frozen place identity. Self-referral is permitted and disclosed.
After successful verification and first publication, the selected referrer receives their next entire session at that venue free. The reward is applied automatically to the next eligible verified visit, expires twelve months after the award, covers one session of up to 24 hours, is non-transferable and has no cash value. The venue must honour it. The original rate will remain visible separately from the reward and the amount due will be zero. Venue deletion cancels an unused reward. Account deletion removes the referrer's usable reward. The reward is consumed once when staff starts that visit. An automatic closure still creates the report described below, including when the reward makes the amount due zero.
Verification calls and source-contact requests
Venue SMS and voice each require a separate affirmative request to an eligible published number and the permission shown beside that action. Voice may require pressing a key before hearing the code. Standard message, data or call rates may apply; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered communications. There is no automatic paid fallback or marketing subscription. For help or to stop further requests, contact [email protected] and do not request another code. An already requested communication may be in transit.
Account settings and designated verification testing
A valid completed sign-in is sufficient to manage your optional authenticator or replace your mobile number. These changes do not require another password, email code or existing authenticator code. Confirming a new authenticator and verifying a replacement mobile number still require the corresponding setup or SMS code. Other actions may retain their disclosed recent-authentication requirements.
For a specifically designated operational test venue, DeskCafes may configure a separate private phone number for requested verification texts and calls. The request screen identifies this exception and its recipient permission. The original Overture identity and source record remain unchanged, and the test destination is not a public contact or a bypass of code verification, publication requirements, recovery or enforcement.
Verified visits, prices and direct payment
A visit starts only when currently authorized venue staff scans or enters your explicit start code while your original completed sign-in remains valid. You can have only one active visit. Codes rotate after thirty seconds, expire within ninety seconds and are single-use; do not share them with anyone except the intended staff. An end code is a separate explicit action and must be scanned by current staff. A code alone is not a reservation, seat guarantee or payment.
Before requesting a start code, check and accept the venue's original currency, tax-inclusive hourly rate, admission hours and applicable reward. Staff must use the matching start action. The original rate, currency precision, schedule deadline and reward are frozen at start. Each started minute is charged and the final amount is rounded upward to the next minor currency unit. A zero rate is valid. You pay the venue directly using its stated methods; DeskCafes neither collects payment nor maintains a paid/unpaid ledger or arbitrates payment disputes.
An available preferred-currency estimate uses the latest eligible daily ExchangeRate-API observation and is non-binding. Its exchange ratio is locked at start; missing or stale exchange data does not prevent a visit in the original currency. Payment obligations are expressed in that original currency.
The venue's commercial and admission schedules use its timezone derived from its frozen location, including overnight hours and date exceptions. Admission must be open when staff starts the visit. Daylight-saving gaps move to the next valid local time; repeated opening times use the earlier occurrence and repeated closing times the later occurrence. The visit deadline is the earlier of commercial close plus one elapsed hour or twenty-four elapsed hours after start.
Closing visits, automatic reports and retained history
Ask staff to scan your end code before the displayed deadline. If that does not happen, DeskCafes closes the visit automatically at the deadline and creates a qualifying non-payment report, including for zero-rate and rewarded visits. The report records missing verified closure; it is not proof that money was unpaid. We send operational email notices to the visitor and venue administrator, subject to delivery availability. A delayed worker or notice does not extend the deadline. These reports form part of the enforcement history used by the published enforcement rules when those functions are available.
Only a normal staff-verified closure after at least fifteen minutes makes a visit eligible for a review when reviews become available. Automatic closure and closure caused by account or venue deletion do not. Account or venue deletion closes an active visit immediately; if its deadline already passed, the automatic closure and report still apply. Earlier deletion creates no non-payment report merely because of deletion and does not cancel any amount already due directly to the venue.
Public pages display the exact number of active visits, including small counts. Your history is private by default. The venue administrator keeps the permanent visit archive; ordinary staff see active visits and their own most recent closure for up to ten minutes. Account deletion clears ordinary account and staff identity links from retained visit facts. It does not delete required agreement evidence, the venue's retained visit facts or restricted enforcement evidence. See the Privacy Policy for the purposes, safeguards, retention and rights. Report an objective record or calculation error to [email protected]; mandatory legal rights remain available.
Verified reviews and public identity
After a normal staff-verified visit lasting at least fifteen minutes, you may publish one living review for that venue. A later eligible visit lets you replace it. Answer at least one of the six optional one-to-five work-experience ratings; text is optional and limited to five hundred characters. You may attach up to three replacement photos. Earlier versions remain in your private history and export. A venue administrator may publish one response and edit it; previous responses remain in its restricted business archive.
A published review shows your current public name and username even when your consolidated visit history is private. It therefore reveals that you visited that venue. Making your history public separately exposes your past verified visits and reviews; active visits, contact details, amounts, staff identities and reports are excluded from that profile. You can make the history private again. Deleting an ordinary account removes its profile and public identity while keeping reviews and attached community photos under Deleted user. Venue deletion removes its public reviews and photos; a later claim starts without those former public records.
Share your own honest experience and only material you have the right to publish. Do not include another person's private information, identifiable people without an appropriate basis, unlawful material, threats, harassment, spam or manipulated reviews. The Community Policy applies to reviews, responses, photos and other public contributions. Grant DeskCafes a non-exclusive permission to store, sanitize, resize, moderate and display your contribution as needed to provide the service and retain the disclosed history. This does not transfer ownership of your work or authorize unrelated advertising use. Mandatory rights remain available.
Photos, moderation and discovery
Venue administrators may arrange up to ten official photos. Eligible reviewers may upload JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC supported by the installed decoder. The current upload limits are twelve MiB, twenty-four million pixels, sixteen thousand three hundred eighty-four pixels on either edge and one still image. An unsupported HEIC file must first be converted to JPEG, PNG or WebP. Original upload bytes are discarded after sanitization or rejection. Sanitized WebP masters and smaller variants may be retained under the Privacy Policy.
Selected photos appear publicly after sanitization and successful public storage, before safety review. Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch subsequently checks sanitized images using its EU service. Clear unsafe results cause removal; ambiguous results await an authorized owner decision while remaining visible. If the provider is unavailable, publication remains available and review is retried. Rejected photos stop being served and their stored copies enter cleanup. Checks can make mistakes and do not certify that material is lawful or that all rights have been obtained. Public images can be copied by others before removal. You may contact [email protected] to contest a decision or request the applicable redress path.
Discovery ratings and work attributes summarize verified visits and reviews once the venue has five unique verified visitors. Older evidence has less weight. Historical visit totals and current active counts are exact and unweighted. Results depend on the selected area and filters; recommended ordering uses available quality, activity and distance evidence. Missing evidence is not a positive claim about a venue. Opening information, photos and ratings do not guarantee admission, equipment, seats or a particular experience.
We show a review invitation after an eligible close and attempt one reminder twenty-four hours later if you have not reviewed that visit. We do not send repeated review reminders. Media and other variable-cost functions can pause when limits are reached; existing browsing remains available. Posting content is an explicit action, separate from ordinary draft edits and optional analytics choices.
